Bus-truck collision kills 5 in Dinajpur

At least five people were killed and 25 others injured when a bus collided with a truck on Dinajpur-Fulbari highway in the district on Friday (July 5).

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place in front of Arian Patrol pump around 6:00am.

Local and police sources said a coach of Nabil Paribahan collided head-on with a mango-laden truck at Chakrampur village in the morning, leaving truck driver and helper dead on the spot. Meanwhile, 28 more people received injuries.

Later, the injured were taken to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital where three more people died under treatment.

Dinajpur Katwali police station Officer-in-Charge Md Farid Hossain confirmed the matter.
