HSC exams in Sylhet started today amid ongoing floods

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams in Sylhet division, previously suspended due to flooding, started on Tuesday (July 9) amidst the ongoing flood.
The guardians are seen in tension mood as the flood situation is not normal yet.
According to the guardians, the students in the region could not study properly as water entered their homes due to the floods.
Several exam centres, including Sylhet's Dakshin Surma Government College and Balaganj DN High School, are still submerged as of Monday (July 8).
Matiur Rahman, Acting Principal of South Surma Government College in Sylhet, said that there is water at the entrance of the college yet. However, sandbags have been put on the road so that students can enter into the exams center.
Professor Arun Chandra Paul, exam controller of Sylhet education board told media that flood situation has improved. Although, there is some water around the exam centers but no water inside the center. That’s why the authority is ready to take the exams on July 9.
