Panchagarh road crash leaves two dead

A woman and her granddaughter died after a microbus hit an easy bike in Atwari upazila of Panchagarh on Thursday (July 12).

The deceased were known as Begum, 55, wife of late Dulal Uddin, and five-year-old granddaughter Ayesha Akter, 5.

Radhanagar Union Parishad chairman Abu Jahed said the accident occurred while the Thakurgaon-bound microbus hit them when they were getting off the easy bike in the Goaldighi area of the union.

Meanwhile, locals rushed to the spot and sent the injured people to upazila health complex. Later, they were shifted to Thakurgaon Modern Sadar hospital but they died on the way to the hospital.

Atwari police station OC Musa Mia said legal step will be taken if victim’s family members filed complaints.
