‘Tk 400cr peon’ Jahangir flees to US

Much-talked peon Jahangir Alam, who had amassed a wealth worth Tk400 crore, has fled to the United States.

He left for the United States one month ago, Jahangir Alam’s nephew Masudur Rahman Shipan confirmed the matter around 11:00pm on Monday (July 15).

Jahangir Alam, his second wife, and two children went to the USA after Eid.

District Juba League convener Masudur Rahman Shipan also said that his uncle's two sons study in English medium school in Dhaka. The school session is June to June. So, uncle went to America with them as the school was closed.

He was scheduled to return home on Sunday (July 14). But he could not come back due to physical illness, Jahangir Alam’s nephew added.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina disclosed that she took action against a former peon who had amassed Tk400 crore in wealth. This revelation sparked nationwide attention and raised questions about the individual's identity.
