Mother, son crushed under train in Joypurhat

A woman and his five-year-old son were crushed under the wheels of a train in Bagjana rail station area under Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat on Monday evening (July 15).

The deceased were known as Shahnaj Begum, 25, wife of Moniruzzaman Mithu, and son Shoaib, 5.

Witnesses and locals said the woman and her son were walking on the rail line in the area around 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, Panchagarh-bound Ekota Express hit them from behind, leaving them dead on the spot.

Panchbibi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faisal Bin Ahsan confirmed the matter.
