Industries in Gazipur start production in full swing

All the industries in Gazipur reopened on Wednesday morning after being closed for five consecutive days. However, production started in full swing from Thursday (July 25). 420 members of Industrial Police are engaged to ensure the overall security of factories and workers.

Industry owners said that all the factories in Gazipur were reopened on Wednesday. However, it was not possible to resume production in full swing due to shortage of workers. Production has started in full swing from today. But our worries did not decrease as production was hampered for last five days. It was not possible to communicate with the buyers due to unavailability of internet as well as not being able to make the shipment on time.

Abu Taleb, admin manager of Mahmud Denims factory at Chandra in Gazipur, said, “Many of our shipments have been stuck in the overall situation of the last few days. If the buyer cancels the shipment for any reason, we will encounter a big loss.”

Masum Hossain, assistant general manager (AGM) of Tusuka Garments in Konabari, said, “One lakh pieces of pants are produced every day in our factory. Production of nearly five lakh pieces of pants was hampered in last five days. Besides, it was not possible to communicate with the buyers due to unavailability of internet as well as not being able to make the shipment on time.”

Superintendent of Gazipur Industrial Police-1 Sarwar Alam said 420 members of Industrial Police are working to ensure the overall security of factories and workers. In addition, members of police, RAB, BGB and army are patrolling. Hope, production in the industries will continue peacefully.
