“Cop to make list of those who will try to save saboteurs”

A total of 75 cases have been filed for violence in different parts of Rajshahi division during the quota reform movement. Most of the cases were filed by police. Rest of them were filed by the leaders of the ruling party and allied organizations.

There is a complaint that even though BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists have been arrested in these cases, in many cases the leaders of the ruling party are lobbying for their release. Apart from this, leaders of various social organizations are also lobbying.

Therefore, the Rajshahi Range police decided to make a list of the people who are lobbying to release these culprits.

Rajshahi Range Police has sent letters to the Superintendents of Police (SP) of the eight districts of the division to prepare the list. The police will analyze the past of those whose names will appear in the list.

Bijoy Basak, additional deputy inspector general of Rajshahi range police, said that in connection with the recent violence, 67 cases have been registered till Thursday in different police stations of eight districts of the division. There are 951 accused in these cases. Apart from this, there are many other accused who are not identified. 956 people have already been arrested.

According to the law enforcement agencies, the search operation is underway to arrest the financiers, facilitators and explosives suppliers of the culprits. Along with the police, RAB is also working on these issues. RAB arrested 50 people in Rajshahi alone.
