2 schoolboys drown in Kaptai Lake

Two school boys died after drowning in Kaptai lake in Rangamati district on Friday noon (July 26).

The deceased were known as Arnab Chowdhury, 15, and Edison Saha, 16. They were students of Shah Multilateral High School in the town.

Local sources said that three schoolboys went to bathe in Kaptai Lake this noon. At one stage, one of them drowned. Meanwhile, another one tried to help him and he also drowned. Hearing their shouting, locals rescued them and sent to Rangamati general hospital where the on-duty doctor declared the two teenagers dead.

Rangamati Katwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.
