“I can`t believe my son was shot dead”

Rasel Mia (36), was shot dead on his way back to his rented house in Rampura of the capital on Friday (July 19), during the quota reform movement. The family of the victim is still traumatized following the death.

The victim, was a son of freedom fighter Hasen Ali, hailed from from Dulalkandi village of Belabo upazila of Narsingdi. Rasel was the owner and director of a television commercial production company named R M Multimedia.

Freedom fighter Hasen Ali, father of the victim said after the Friday prayer, a stranger phoned me and said that my boy was shot. The critically injured was sent to Mugda hospital where duty doctor declared him dead around 3:00 pm.

The father said, “I am a brave freedom fighter. I have fought for the country. I can't believe my innocent son was killed by BGB firing.”

Hasnath Rehena, sister of Rasel Mia said on information, we rushed to the hospital and found my dead brother there. A bullet hit at his left chest.

Narayanpur UP Chairman Kausar Kazal said that Rasel was shot dead in Dhaka on July 19. The next day, was buried after janaza. No one could believe the news of the shooting at first.
