Ex-BCL leader Rony held while fleeing country

Nurul Azim Rony, former BCL general secretary of Chattogram city, has been detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Immigration police detained him from the airport while leaving the country early Friday (August 9).

Mosaddek Ali Ibn Mohammad, a co-coordinator of Chattogram anti-discrimination student movement confirmed the matter.

He said that during the student movement in Chattogram, Chhatra League and Jubo League cadres under the leadership of Rony attacked the unarmed students in gate number two area of the port city. Lots of causalities took place due to the attack.
