Two groups clash at Jamalpur jail, six inmates killed 

Six prisoners were killed and 19 were injured as two groups of inmates locked into a clash at Jamalpur District Jail on Thursday.

Jail Super Abu Fattah confirmed the matter on Friday.

The deceased were Arman Mia, Raihan, Shyamal, Fazle Rabbi Babu, Jasim Mia and Rahat-- all residents of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila.

Abu Fattah said two groups of the inmates locked into clashes inside the jail and six of them died in this connection.  

The inmates also beat the jailer, held him captive and tried to escape from the jail, he said.
