Ahsan H Mansur becoming BB governor

The government has decided to appoint Ahsan H Mansur, executive director of Policy Research Institute, as the new governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB).

He will succeed Abdur Rouf Talukder.

Sources in Financial Institution Division of the Finance Ministry  confirmed the matter on Tuesday.  

Meanwhile, the age limit for the post of central bank governor, previously set at 67 years, is expected to be removed soon.
