Murder case filed against 1,200 including Liton in Rajshahi

A case has been filed against 1,200 people, including mayoral runner AHM Khairuzzaman Liton for their alleged involvement in the killing of an Islami Chhatra Shibir leader Ali Raihan, 28.
Rana Islam, 21, younger brother of the victim filed the case with Boalia police station on Monday night (August 19).
SM Masud Parvez, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boalia police station confirmed the matter.
He said that Awami League presidium member and former city mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton was made the main accused in the murder case. The names of 50 people were also mentioned in the case.
On August 5, Ali Raihan, the organizing secretary of the Mohanagar Chhatra Shibir, was shot in a clash between Awami League leaders and activists and the police in Alupatti area of the city. Later, he died on August 8 while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
