Sheikh Hasina, 118 others accused in murder case in Rangpur

Another murder case has been filed against 119 individuals, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with the death of van driver Manik Mia, who was shot dead during the anti-discrimination student protest in Rangpur.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former IGP Chowdhury Abdul Al Mamun and names of others top police officials, former MPs were mentioned in the case.

Nur Jahan Begum, mother of the victim Manik filed the murder case with Rangpur Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on Monday (August 19).

On July 18, during the anti-discrimination student protest, there was a clash between students and the police in Tazhat police station area. During the clash, Manik Mia was killed by gunfire.
