Educational institutions shut amid massive flooding in Noakhali

The Noakhali district administration on Wednesday (August 21) announced the closure of all educational institutions due to flood situation.
It has been reported that most areas of Noakhali district town have been repeatedly flooded. Most of the shops and markets were seen closed due to the waterlogging.
Dewan Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner, Noakhali, said many areas of Noakhali have been submerged due to continuous rain. In such a situation, all the educational institutions of the district have been declared closed till further instructions.
Dry food and cash have been distributed among flood affected people. All Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) have been asked to stand by the people of their respective areas. In the meantime, the Ministry of Disaster and Relief has been informed about the overall issue, he added.
Monir Ahmed, a resident of the housing area, said, "Most of the roads have been submerged in water due to nonstop rain. This crisis has arisen because the municipal authorities did not clean the drains and drains on time.
