Flood water starts receding in 2 upazilas of Feni

The flood water has started receding in Parshuram and Chhagalnaiya upazilas of Feni as there has been no rain for two days. But still the district town and Sonagazi upazila are flooded everywhere.

The district administration confirmed this information to the media on Saturday (August 24).

According to sources from the relief and rehabilitation branch of the district, more than three lakh people were affected by the flash flood in the district. So far, 20,000 people have been rescued and kept in various shelter centres.

Deputy Commissioner of Feni Mushammat Shahina Akhtar said army, coast guard, fire service, students and volunteers participated in the rescue operation in the flood-hit areas. So far, 500 tons of rice and Tk 10 lakh have been allocated from the ministry concerned for the flood victims.
