Ex-minister Golam Dastagir Gazi detained

Police detained former textiles and jute minister Golam Dastagir Gazi.

He was detained late Saturday (August 24) night from his Shantinagar residence in the capital.

However, police did not provide any details regarding the case for which he was arrested.

Paltan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Molla Md Khalid Hossen confirmed the news.

Earlier on August 21, a murder case was filed against 105 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina and Golam Dastagir Gazi, at Rupganj police station in Narayanganj.

Golam Dastagir Gazi was elected MP from Narayanganj-1 constituency for straight four times with Awami League’s boat symbol.
