20-km tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway

Hundreds of vehicles and commuters got stuck in a 20-kilometre-long tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Narayanganj on Wednesday (August 28).

The tailback is seen from Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj Signboard to Darikandi area of Sonargaon. The traffic jam caused extreme miseries to the drivers and passengers.

Atabur Mia, a bus driver said I have come in Madanpur in 2 hours from Jatrabari in the morning. If there is a traffic jam like this, our daily expenses will not be earned.

Kanchpur highway police station camp’s traffic Inspector Abu Nayeem said that the reason behind the traffic jam is not known yet. We are trying to ease the traffic jam.
