Bus-truck collision leaves 5 dead in Gopalganj

At least five people were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj. 

The incident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna highway at Majhigati in the upazila around 8:30am on Sunday (September 1).

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Abdullahel Baki, sub-inspector (SI) of Bhanga highway police station, confirmed this to risingbd.

SI Abdullahel Baki said a Dhaka-bound bus of “Imad Paribahan” from Pirojpur collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction when it reached Majhigati area of the upazila. As a result, the bus fell into a nearby ditch which left five people dead and 25 others injured.

The injured have been admitted to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex.
