Former Chhatra League leader killed in mob beating in Rajshahi

A former leader of Chhatra League Rajshahi University unit was killed in mob attack in Rajshahi city on Saturday (September 7) night on charge of attacking protesters on August 5 during the mass upsurge.

The deceased is Abdullah Al Masud, a resident of Budhpara area of the city.

Masud was severely injured in mob beating and later handed over to the police station. After being taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), he died.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boalia Model Police Station SM Masud Parvez said: “Masud came under an attack on charge of attacking protesters on August 5 during the mass upsurge. He was severely injured in the mob beating and was later transferred to RMCH with the help of the army. But he died there.”

Legal actions will be taken against the culprits involved in the lynching if his family files any complaint, the OC said.
