Case filed against Mashrafe, 89 others in Narail

A case has been filed against 90 people including former Bangladesh cricket team captain and former Awami League lawmaker from Narail-2 constituency Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and his father Golam Mortaza Swapan on charges of carrying out attacks on students and people during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Sheikh Mostafa AL-Muzahidur Rahman Palash filed the case with Narail Sadar police station on Tuesday (September 10) night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar police station Saiful Islam confirmed the news.

According to the case statement, Mashrafe and his father along with others equipped with sharp weapons and arms held a rally at the Narail intersection during the quota reform movement on August 4.

When the procession of students demanding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina was near Russel Setu, the accused attacked the students with various local weapons.

They also fired gunshots during the clash, leaving a number of protesters injured, according to the case statement.
