Operations resume at Barapukuria Power Plant

After being completely shut down for three days, the Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant in Dinajpur resumed partial electricity production.
The plant’s unit-1 started power generation around 8:30 pm on Thursday (September 12).
Confirming the matter, chief engineer of the powerplant Md Abu Bakr Siddique said the 125 MW capacity Unit 1 resumed operation after 8:00 pm. Around 60 to 65 MW of the generated electricity is being supplied to the national grid.
Earlier on September 9, the Barapukuria Thermal Power Plant in Dinajpur ceased operations after all three of its power-generating units became non-operational.
