Businessman killed for resisting extortion in Chattogram

A businessman was hacked to death by miscreants for resisting extortion in Chattogram on Sunday (September 15).

The deceased was known as Muslim Uddin, 48.

Police and locals said that two people demanded extortion from the victim around 8:00pm on Sunday. Meanwhile, Muslim Uddin refused to give them extortion. At one stage, the extortionists attacked him with sharp weapon and fled the scene.

Later, locals rushed him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Bandar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Sultan Ahsan confirmed the matter.
