Mizan accused of opening fire on students, people arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) have arrested Md Mizan, 33, in a case filed for allegedly opening fire with gun on the students and people during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at Bahaddarhat area under Chandgaon Thana in Chattogram on July 18.

Confirming the matter, Md Sharif-ul-Alam, RAB-7 senior assistant superintendent of police, said Mizan was arrested from city’s Bayezid Bostami area on Monday night during a special drive.

Some 1,200 pieces of yaba tablets were also recovered from his possession, he said.

Mizan is also wanted in seven cases involving drugs, arms, abduction and dacoity.
