Former Kushtia MP Selim Altaf George arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former member of parliament for Kushtia-4 Selim Altaf George.

He was arrested from the capital's Lalmatia area on Tuesday night (September 17).

DMP DB Chief Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the matter.

He said Barrister Salim Altaf George is wanted in several murder cases in Kushtia and Dhaka. Police will seek remand showing him arrest in one the murder cases.

Selim served as MP for Kushtia-4 (Khoksa-Kumarkhali) constituency from 2018. However, he could not secure the nomination from Awami League in 12th national parliament election.
