Former Planning Minister MA Mannan sent to jail

MA Mannan, the former planning minister and former lawmaker of Sunamganj-3, has been has been sent to jail.

Sunamganj Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Farhan Sadiq passed the order after police produced Mannan before the court on Friday morning. 

Mannan’s lawyer Advocate Shafiqul Islam said they explained to the court that Mannan’s health condition is not good. The court, after considering all aspects, sent him to jail. Earlier, on Thursday night, police arrested him. 

Hafiz Ahmad, brother of Zahoor Ahmed, who was injured in an attack during the recent mass movement, a resident of Dowarabazar Upazila of the district, filed a case under the Speedy Trial Act on September 2 with the Sadar Model police station. 99 people, including MA Mannan, were accused in this case.
