‘CHT Blockade’ underway in Rangamati, Khagrachhari

Protesters are observing ‘CHT Blockade’ under the banner of ‘Bikkhubda Jumma Chhatra-Janata’ in Rangamati and Khagrachhari, condemning the attacks on ethnic minorities in the two hill districts.

The 72-hour long blockade which was announced yesterday began from 6am on Saturday (September 21).

Due to the blockade, no long-distance vehicles left the districts in the morning. Besides, shops, bazar and river ghats remained shut.

Meanwhile, security forces have remained alert to bring the entire situation under control as well as prevent any untoward incident in the hilly areas.
