Dhaka’s rail link with 4 northern districts restored after 1.5 hours

The train movement of Dhaka with four districts of the northern region has been restored one and a half hours after the suspension due to a blockade enforced by local residents demanding the intervals of all inter-city trains at Hili Railway Station in Dinajpur.

The train movement normalized after the blockade was lifted on assurance from the authority.

The blockade that started from 11 am was withdrawn around 12:30pm on Monday (September 23), confirmed Hili Railway Station Master Kamruzzaman.

He said that the local residents blocked the rail line demanding intervals of all inter-city trains at Hili Railway Station and modernization of the station. Later, Shantahar Junction TIC Habibur Rahman Nayan visited the spot and assured of fulfilling the demand after talking to higher authority within 20 days.
