Three killed in Thakurgaon lightning strikes

Three people were killed and nine others, including women and children, were injured being struck by lightning strikes in Thakurgaon sadar and Baliadangi upazilas on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Ariful Islam, 17, son of Dulal Islam, and Monir Islam (28), son of Nazrul Islam, both from Lauuthi village under Sukhanpukur union of Thakurgaon sadar upazila. Another victim, Ataur Rahman, 23, was from Kalibari village in Amjankhor union under Baliadangi upazila.

Some of the injured are 7-year-old child Ruman of Amjankhor union of Baliadangi upazila, 13-year-old Kishore Rana, 10-year-old child Sakibul, 8-year-old child Faisal of Fultala village, Manjura Begum, wife of Ashraful Islam of Udaipur village. All of them have admitted in Baliadangi Upazila Health Complex. 

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital Dr. Rakibul Alam Chayan said bodies of three persons have been handed over to the families.
