SUST BCL gen secy Sajibur arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Sajibur Rahman, general secretary of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), from Narsingdi’s Raipura early Wednesday (September 25).

Sajibur, 24, son of Robi Ullah, was a resident of Dukundichar village under Raipura upazila of Narsingdi.

Mashihur Rahman, assistant superintendent of police at RAB-9, confirmed his arrest this morning.

The RAB officer said acting on a tip-off, members of RAB-9 and RAB-11 conducted a joint drive and arrested Sajibur from Raipura around 1:30 am.

He said Sajibur is accused in a sabotage case filed with Sylhet’s Kotwali police station. He had been absconding in the case.

The arrestee was handed over to the police station, he said, adding that efforts are underway to arrest the rest of the accused in the case.
