No case filed in connection with murder of army officer Tanjim

No case was filed in connection with the murder of Lt Tanjim Sarwar Nirjon till Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Bangladesh Army, in a combing operation, arrested six people from Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar for their involvement in the killing.

Officer-in-Charge of Chakaria Thana Md Monzur Kader confirmed the matter. But no one handed over the police, he said.

The arrestees are identified as Md. Babul Prokash, 44, Md. Helal Uddin, 34, Md Anowar Hakim, 28, Md. Arif Ullah, 25, Md. Ziabul Karim, 45, and Md Hossain, 39.

Lt Tanjim, 23, was stabbed to death during a drive to prevent a robbery incident in the upazila in the early hours of Tuesday.
