Two drown in Bishwambarpur

Two cousins have drowned in a haor at Bishwambarpur upazila in Sunamganj district.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon on Karchar haor near Radhanagar village under the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Md Arafat Mehedi, 5, son of Monwar Hossain, and his cousin Yunus Mia, 8, son of Fazlul Haque. They both were cousin.

According to the family members, the duo was playing around their house in the afternoon and drowned in the adjacent haor unbeknownst to his family members.

Bishwambarpur Police Station officer-in-charge Kawsar Alam confirmed the deaths.
