Six deaths in Sunamganj fire: PBI, CID to probe case

Six members of a family have died in a fire that broke out at an Ashrayan Project house in Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj.

Police Bureau of Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) teams are going to the scene to investigate the case.

Sunamganj District Police Super AFM Md Anowar Hossain Khan confirmed the matter.

The victims were identified as Emarul, 50, his wife Pori Aktar, and their four children: Polash Mia, 9, Farhad, 7,  Fatema, 5, and Omar Faruk, 3,  according to Md Enamul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dharmapasha Police Station. Emarul was a fisherman.

“The incident occurred late Monday night at the government-run Ashrayan Project in the Shimer Khal area under Jayashree Union,” he said.
