Ex-Noakhali MP Ekramul sent to jail

A court in Noakhali has sent former Awami League lawmaker Ekramul Karim Chowdhury to jail in a murder case.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Sajjad Hossain passed the order around 7:30 am on Wednesday (October 2).
Earlier, police presented him at the court at about 7:15am. Later, the court ordered to send him to jail in the case filed with Sudharam Police Station on September 8.
Earlier on Tuesday night, the members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested Ekramul Karim from Chattogram’s Khulshi area. He was shown arrested in the murder case this morning.
The former lawmaker is accused in four cases. Of those, two of the cases were filed with Sudharam Model Police Station over murder and abduction, another was filed with Sonaimuri Police Station on charge of killing and the other was lodged with Kabir Hat Police Station for illegal possession of firearms.
