There is an allegation that Rohingya people who have fled from Myanmar are getting national identity cards from Madaripur district. As a result, local people are becoming anger.

The Election Office has formed a probe body regarding this complaint and got the initial truth. Meanwhile, an election officer has been removed from his duty.

According to the investigation, Jamila Khatun is a resident of Block No. 3 of Jadir Mura Rohingya Camp in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar.

She got a national identity card from Charjanajat area of Shibchar upazila of Madaripur on February 1. She applied for passport.  Father's name has been shown as Abul Kalam and mother's name as Mahmuda Khatun.

Even the local Union Parishad chairman does not know anyone by that name.

Acting Chairman of Charjanajat Union Nasir Sarkar said, "The woman named Jamila Khatun is not a resident of this union. I do not know him”.
