AL leader found dead in Munshiganj pond

A local Awami League leader was found dead in a pond in Sreenagar of Munshiganj on Friday (October 4).

The deceased was known as Shahjahan Sheikh, 55. He was Birtara union Awami League’s publicity secretary.

Police and local sources said noticing the floating body of the victim in a pond, locals informed police station. Later, police recovered the body around 11:00 am.

The victim’s wife Sima Begum said Shahjahan left home on Thursday night and remained missing. He was addicted.

Sreenagar police station OC Yeasin Munshi said the body was sent to morgue for autopsy.
