2.31 lakh chicken eggs imported from India

A large consignment of eggs has arrived in the country from India. The third consignment of 2.31 lakh chicken eggs were imported from India through Benapole land port on Saturday (October 5).

Dhaka’s importing company BDF Corporation imported the eggs.

Customs sources said that the import value of eggs is about 9,969 USD. Each of the eggs will be priced likely at Tk7.50 after adding import tariffs.

Confirming the matter, Benapole Customs House Deputy Commissioner Othello Chowdhury said priority clearance is given as the shipment of egg products is urgent and perishable.
