Death toll from Sherpur floods rises to 11

The death toll from the ongoing floods in Sherpur has risen to 11 after an five-year-old toddler drowned in floodwaters on Tuesday in the Talki area of Nakla upazila.
The victim, Rahim, son of Rafiqul Islam from the area, drowned after being swept away by the floodwaters.
Nakla police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Despite the loss of life, there has been some improvement in the overall flood situation, with water levels continuing to recede.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Army is continuing various activities including distribution of food items in the flood-affected areas.
242 primary and 84 secondary schools in the district have been declared closed due to the floods. The district administration has declared all the educational institutions of the district as shelters.
