8 killed as private car falls into Pirojpur ditch

At least eight people were killed after a private car skidded off the road and fell into a ditch in Pirojpur early Thursday (October 10).

The deceased were known as Motaleb, 45, his wife Sabina Aktar, 30, daughter Mukta, 12, son Soaib, 2, Shawon Mridha, 32, his wife Amena Begum, and their two sons Abdullah, 3, and Shahadat, 10.

The accident took place around 3:00 am.

Additional police super of Pirojpur Mukit Hasan confirmed the matter.

He said the accident took place in Nurani gate area of Nazirpur road under Sadar upazila. The national ID card of a victim was found in the car. The dead bodies were kept at Pirojpur Sadar Hospital.
