2 held over Islamic songs at Chattogram Puja mandap

Police have detained two people in connection with the performance of an Islamic song at a Durga Puja mandap in Chattogram.

Identities of the detainees could not be known immediately.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Kazi Mohammad Tarek Aziz confirmed the matter on Friday morning (October 11).

Police said details regarding the matter will be announced later.

The arrests were made during early morning raids throughout the city on Friday after clips of the incident began circulating on social media, causing a stir among netizens.
