Bangladeshi dies from Monkeypox in UAE, buried in Cumilla

The body of Kamal Hossain, 38, a Bangladeshi expatriate who died in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from monkeypox, was buried on Friday (11 October) at his village home in Cumilla.
The burial was conducted in the presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Rahmatullah and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Golam Kibria Tipu.
He was buried at the family graveyard in Munshirhat union of Cumilla’s Chowddagram upazila, following the directives of the ministry of health and district administration.
Earlier, the body was transported from Dhaka airport to Cumilla on the night of 10 October.
UNO Rahmatullah said the burial was conducted per the guidelines of the ministry of health and district administration.
