5 killed as 2 buses collide in Faridpur

Five people have been killed and 27 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Faridpur early Tuesday (October 15).

The incident took place in Mallikpur on the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 4 am.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Karimpur Highway Police Station Maruf Hossain said a passenger bus named Green Express, travelling from Abdullahpur in Dhaka to Jhenaidah, had collided head-on with another passenger bus named Khagrachhari Paribahan, coming from Shyamnagar, Satkhira.

The collision left five people dead and 27 others injured, he said.
