Train derails in Chuadanga, services halted on Dhaka-Khulna route

Eight oil tankers of a Khulna-bound freight train derailed in Chuadanga’s Jibannagar, suspending rail communication between Khulna and the rest of the country.
The incident took place at the down signal point of Uthli railway station around 1 am on Tuesday (October 22).
Uthli Railway’s Station Master Mintu Roy said that a train carrying oil tankers was heading to Khulna from Dhaka on Tuesday night when the derailment occurred.
On information, a rescue train rushed to the spot and started working on the derailed tankers since dawn, he said.
