‘Dana’ waves break Inani Jetty into 2 parts

A portion of the Inani Jetty has collapsed due to the strong waves caused by Cyclone ‘Dana’ at the Inani Beach in Cox’s Bazar.

Apart from this jetty built for tourists, there is also a possibility of damage in the infrastructure of the surrounding area of the jetty due to the rough waves, locals said.

People gathered there to see the damaged jetty on Thursday (October 24) and they said such loss of coastal infrastructure and beauty in Cox’s Bazar is a major blow to the tourism industry.

Saif Uddin, a resident of Patwartek area, said that the jetty was still strong yesterday, but due to the influence of cyclone ‘Dana’, the jetty was broken into two parts.

However, authorities concerned could not be reached for any comment in this regard.
