2 arrested for snatching in guise of DB

The police have arrested two people including a constable for snatching in guise of detective branch (DB) officials of police in Faridpur.

The arrestees are – Arafat Rahman Agun, 28, and, a police constable named Md Mamun Sheikh, 32.

Sources said that locals caught two people for snatching in guise of DB police in Brahmankanda area of the district town on Friday night. Meanwhile, locals gave them a good beating. Later, on information, police rescued them from the spot.

Police said the constable Mamun Sheikh was transferred from Kotwali police station to reserve police on September 15. Two days later he was transferred to DMP. But he was absent there.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Md Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter.
