6 RMG factories closed sine die in Gazipur

Six readymade garment factories, located in Konabari area of Gazipur metropolitan, have been closed for an indefinite period following worker unrest.

The authorities of factories put notifications in this regard on Sunday (November 3).

The factories are – Tusuka Jeans Limited, Tusuka Trousers Limited, Tusuka Processing Ltd, Tusuka Packaging Ltd, Tusuka Denim Ltd, and Tusuka Washing Ltd.

Factory authorities said a group of unidentified intruders started strike mentioning some illogical demands on Saturday. Meanwhile, the workers left the factories and created unrest at the main gate of the factories. Responding to the incident, the law enforcers tried to bring the situation under control. Later, the authorities shut the factories for an unidentified period.

Following the issue, Gazipur industrial police-2 Konabari Zone senior assistant police super Md Abu Taleb confirmed the matter.
