Two cousins die after consuming rat killing poison

Two cousins have died after consuming rat killing poison in Nalchhiti upazila of Jhalakathi.
They died at Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Wednesday (November 13) night.
The deceased were Lamia Akter, 4, daughter of Kamal Howladar, and Ramzan Howlader, 3, son of Rana Howladar of Akharpara area under Kulkathi union of the upazila.
Nalchhiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam confirmed the news.
The OC said an unnatural death case has been filed in this connection.
Ramzan’s grandfather Amir Ali Howladar said the two were playing outside the house on Wednesday afternoon. At that time, they found medicines that are used to kill rats and they ate them.
Being informed about the matter, they were taken to a hospital nearby. They later died while undergoing treatment there.
