Gas supply to the Ashuganj Fertilizer and Chemical Company Ltd in Brahmanbaria has begun after a nearly nine-month suspension.
Production at the factory had been halted since February due to the gas shortage, causing a loss of at least Tk 4.5 crore per day.
Managing Director of the factory Pradip Kumar Nath said the authorities have started the urea production process after start of the gas supply.
“However, several steps need to be completed before starting urea production. It will take 15/20 days to start fertiliser production in full-scale,” he added.
