Passenger Rights Protection Forum announces withdrawal of hartal programme at press conference
The district administration has fixed the fare by reducing Tk 5 to Tk 50 for non-AC bus and Tk 70 for AC bus on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route.
After this announcement, Rafiur Rabbi, convenor of the Passenger Rights Protection Forum, withdrew the hartal programme, scheduled for Sunday (November 17), in a press conference held at Narayanganj Press Club on Saturday (November 16) evening.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Haque confirmed the reduction in the bus fare at a press briefing held at his office yesterday afternoon.
The deputy commissioner said non-AC bus fare has been fixed at Tk 50 and AC bus fare fixed at Tk 70 on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route. Besides, half fare for students has been announced for both the service.
The revised bus fare will be effective from Monday, he added.
