3 students electrocuted inside picnic bus in Gazipur

Three students of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) were killed after being electrocuted inside a picnic bus in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur.
Three others were injured in this connection.
The incident took place at about 10:30AM on Saturday (November 23) at Udaykhali village in Telihati union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Mozammel Hossain Naeem, Mostakim Rahman Mahin, and Zobayer Alam Sakib.
Rafik Mia, an eyewitness, said 460 students of IUT, located in Gazipur’s Board Bazar area, were traveling to Mati Maya Resort for a picnic in six BRTC double-decker buses.
When one of the buses reached Udaykhali village, it came into contact with a high-voltage electric line running across the road. At that time, several students were electrocuted after the bus got electrified. They were later taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the incident, hospital’s deputy director Zakiul Islam said, “Three students were brought dead to the hospital.”
